Born in Puerto Rico and lived there for 25 years. I met my husband on a plane and after 6 short months of knowing him (mostly through e-mail) I moved to San Francisco. It was a gutsy move, but it was worth it. After getting married, we moved to Washington DC for our jobs. We were having a great time together. We took a wonderful vacation to Portugal, and upon returning, we discovered that I was pregnant. We had a beautiful baby girl and I decided to quit my job to take care of her. I am forever thankful for having this opportunity, but it is not all peaches and cream. Staying at home with a kid posses certain identity challenges, the need for intellectual stimulus, and not to mention a financial burden. But looking into those cute eyes and being able to see my girl grow and develop makes it all worth it. I have a wonderful network of mommy friends that have made this journey much easier. In fact I would've probably gone insane without them. This is what I want to write about, the joys and tribulations of being a parent, the funny anecdotes that inevitably will happen as the girl explores her world with that sincerity and boldness characteristic of all children's. Hope I can entertain you and that you can help me sort out this new life!
