Three Things Thursday - Thankful
Posted by MyOwnPartyof5 40 weeks 21 hours ago
Happy Thanksgiving ya'll! (a day early...for some reason this published early!)
I've been noticeably (hopefully) absent from the blogosphere as well as the rest of the internet for the past week or so. I've had issues with my computer and internet connection and to be completely honest, I just needed a break from everything for a while. So I've been spending time reading, playing with my kids, and just generally laying low. Hopefully now I'm recharged and ready to get on with real life and work.
Of course I can't let Thanksgiving go by without giving thanks for all my blessings. Things are rough and I've been stressed for so long I think I've forgotten what it feels like to not be stressed, but at the end of the day, I am blessed.
1) My Family
I can't give enough thanks for my family. From my kids and husband to my mom, dad, sister, step-parents and even my in-laws; they are my life. They are my strength, my support system, the people I strive to be a better person for. I don't tell them nearly enough how much they mean to me, but I hope they realize they are my world.
2) America
I am so thankful that I get to call the United States of America home. America is not without it's faults, but we are privileged to live in a country where we have the freedom to believe as we'd like and where anything is possible for anyone. If it weren't for the soldiers that serve in the United States Armed Forces, none of this would be possible and from the bottom of my heart, I say thank you to each and everyone of them.
3) You!
And of course, I'm thankful for each and every one of you. Writing has always been my outlet (remind me to share some of my "poems" from my teenage years sometime...they're definitely good for a laugh!) and writing this blog has been an opportunity to meet and connect with so many wonderful people. So to my real life friends that read, to my regular readers (all 4 of you!) and those that just stop by from a random search, thank you. I love reading your comments and knowing that I'm not the only one that thinks and feels the way I do.
Now, go eat some turkey and have an extra piece of pumpkin pie for me!
