I am thinking of starting a blog soon and wondering what everyone thinks is the best way to do this. There are so many options out there, not sure where to start, thanks!
I have a wordpress and blogger account. I think you are more likely to get exposure if that's what you want from a blogger account, but wordpress' style is much more clean and good looking. They are both pretty easy to use. I'm referring to the free wordpress accounts though. :)
I think when I start paying for one I'll use a typepad - I've heard good things.
wordpress wordpress wordpress! it's incredible, easy to install, and amazingly customizable through plugins. The large wp community is helpful and informative, and oh so friendly especially to newbies.

I have 22 sites, 9 of them are hosted on blogger (own domain). I also use other platforms, but blogger is my favorite. I don't use the templates they offer, I use blogger.com customized wordpress templates. They are very flexible with the added bonus of free hosting!
As a first-timer to blogging, Blogger was really easy to get off the ground. Also signed up with wordpress (free hosted version), but it seemed actually more limiting so Blogger got the vote.
Here's a great little resource. Hope this helps.

That's really good, thanks!! :)
I like wordpress because of its flexability (which I have yet to test) and all the nifty things you can do with it.
I love wordpress... it's so customizable and there are tons of amazing plugins available.

I use typepad. I do pay for it but it is very affordable and I love it!

I'm using blogger, and it's OK for me.
I can adjust a lot, and it's fun to do so.
For my private blog I don't use a platform.
I just code it myself.
