Wild Planet Crayon Town Sets by Crayola

jerimax posted 18 weeks 1 day ago —

Let me start by saying that I am so in the mood for holiday shopping after attending the Time to Play Holiday Toy Showcase event today! I had the chance to see some of the hottest holiday toy predictions including new items from Nickelodeon, Mattel, Baby Genius, Disney, Corolle and more. Being that I couldn’t find a babysitter and had to take my daughter with me, I got to see first hand what kids really want this holiday season. There were definitely two tables that Angelina kept running back to, I even had to bribe her to leave one. Those brands were Corolle and Wild Planet.

The lovely girls at the Wild Planet table were generous enough to give Angelina a Crayon Town Set to play with at home. Thank goodness for their generosity or else I think I would have still been there trying to pry her away. The minute we walked in the house, the first thing she wanted to do was play with the “crayon animals”. So, before the excitement factor is gone (which I have a feeling will take a while with this toy), I wanted to get some video footage of her trying out the Crayola Crayon Town Set by Wild Planet. You can also read some additional specs below the video.

(I suggest lowering your volume a bit, I was just as excited as her apparently)

The Crayola Crayon Town Sets from Wild Planet are available online at www.wildplanet.com, Target, Amazon and other major toy distributors nationwide. They retail for about $19.99 each for deluxe sets and free printable refills are available online. In addition to the Zoo theme set that you saw us playing with in the video, Wild Planet also offers the Crayon Town sets with a Neighborhood theme, Airport theme, Ranch theme, and Construction zone theme. The sets are recommended for ages 3 and up due to some small pieces that are included.

As you can see, Angelina (Age 2.5) enjoyed the set, she enjoyed creating the scene and building the story on her own. I love the fact that kids can continue using the product and can feel like they are creating a new project each time. It’s definitely not something that they will get bored with in a week or so. With the free printable and various themes available, the creativity can continue to grow. The animals are also the perfect size to drop in your bag on-the-go allowing you to bring two toys at once, the animals themselves and the crayons that hold them together. It’s a great way to recycle old broken crayons as well. I’m not sure if you can really see it in the video, but the brown tree trunk was actually an old nubby crayon we had for a while sitting in the bottom of her bin.
