UnDeck Your Halls

ThatGirl has something to tell you: I am bossy around the holiday season.

Let it be known that today is November 5th and Halloween is officially over. No saggy jack-o-lanterns on your porch. No cotton-ball spiderweb strands blowing in the breeze. All the witches, ghosts and goblins should have flown away.

It was fun. It's over now.

Does that mean it's time to hang up my Christmas lights, ThatGirl?

No, sweet Bloggies. No, no, no. In my bossiness, I will tell you the acceptable dates for Christmas lights are December 1st - January 2nd. Some people keep them up until "12th night" which is another way of saying lazy, but I'll allow it. Some people put them up the day after Thanksgiving -- could we compromise and say put them up, but don't light them yet?

I know it's hard to get those lights up, and I know we love how they look -- but Bloggies? We just can't leave them up all year. It's distressing to those of us with OCD. Also? Where is the fun of Christmas if not wrestling with the damn lights that refuse to fit back into the tub from whence they came? Tradition.

I say these things out of love.

You're welcome.
