Report that Moms need “ME” time

leemega posted 16 weeks 1 day ago —

Moms need more “ME” time aricle by Linda Seether at CNN.com (video here) suggests that many Moms need to take out some more me time.  One of the big things with maintaining or building self esteem according to OSU counseling is “taking time to be alone” and to enjoy doing things for yourself.    My question is that I totally understand that we all need alone time so that we don’t lose ourself in others, but I find that I am so busy all the time, that taking time out to read a book, or knit a scarf just feels guilty and wasted time. Instead of time out for me to maintain a healthy self-esteem.

I believe women aren't finding time for themselves, or aren't making the choice to make time for themselves, not just because we're so busy, but if we take the time, essential things we must do on a daily basis go undone. Few women have husbands/partners who really can and do pick up the slack.

We're not the only ones who determine how much (if any) "me" time we get.

I agree with you Zuccinibreath that women aren't finding time for themselves. I think that was why I posted the story on our self-esteem related blog. It is so importnat that we spend time on and for ourselves, and yet, where exactly are we going to find that time.
