I am a snob

tanyagf posted 12 weeks 2 days ago — I've been on a pretty tight budget lately. I haven't been working since April and thus I haven't been paid since April. We've had to really budget our resources around here....trust me, we aren't destitute. We just have to do without the niceties. I already have a new job lined up and I'll start bringing home the bacon again in September.
I began to realize that I am a snob when I went grocery shopping a few weeks ago and bought Folger's coffee. I am a self-admitted coffee hound. It's my thing. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I drink it all day and will even drink it before bed without a problem. I have all the proper coffee supplies: automatic drip, coffee grinder, french press, etc. Basically, my kitchen looks like Starbucks.
Back to my point, I bought Folgers and every morning I apprehensively approached my coffee maker knowing that I was about to brew and drink the most disgusting concoction known to man. I don't know why I kept doing it. I think that I was hoping it would be better, but it never was. Every day....YUCK! I simply had to have my whole bean coffee that's dark roasted. Java Love, Starbucks, Green Mountain, Ruta Maya, etc.
Yes, I am a coffee snob. I sit in judgement of all of those vacuum sealed tubs of coffee that pretend to be good to the last drop. I can't even talk about decaf without having to lie down. And instant coffee? Is that even really coffee? It's more like dirt. I also dislike these so-called coffees because they cohabitate with powder creamer. YUCK! Where did you get it a powdered cow? I need my half and half straight from the cold fridge. It makes my dark roasted coffee smooth and creamy. It cools down my coffee so I can drink it immediately.
From now on, I will just skip my cup of joe instead of trying to replace it with something it can never be. It's like trying to pretend your husband is Brad Pitt. Doing things like this can only hurt your heart.

My coffee tastes, I admit, also flow with the cash in the house. I did buy Folgers earlier this summer - but the flavored kind. I confess it took a long while to get through - and when I was done - I purchased coffee beans to grind at home. And yes, while I've skipped Starbucks for the most part lately, I did stop two weeks ago. Ugh. Can't live without the coffee.
