Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a life-long disorder that not only affects the child diagnosed, but everyone who interacts with them. The number of children diagnosed with ASD has been on the rise and continues to increase nationwide. Because of this growth in diagnoses, the need for adequate therapeutic services is also growing. Unfortunately, those needed services are usually not covered by insurance and are high in cost and time. Research has demonstrated that the earlier children begin to receive services the more likely their daily functioning will improve.
There are many funding opportunities that exist for autism related services. One simple way that you can help is to watch this short video about how children are affected by Autism.
