And then it was the 4th of July!

Well it's the 4th of July, that's the day in the summer where we party ALL day, cook out great food, swim and then at night we light explosives and watch them blow up while cheering! Isn't it great? Oh the memories that will be made today, and the ER visits. I'm sure the news will be filled with numerous stories about buildings being set ablaze and people being set ablaze and children injured because their parents let them run around with flaming explosive devices for fun! 
When I asked my 7yr old daughter what the 4th of July was her answer, although wrong was better than I had expected. She said "It's a day where we think about people who die in the army" So I explained to her what today "really" is for, why it's supposed to be celebrated and she nodded, then ran off to listen to Hannah Montana, again.. *weird*
We will spend the day at my sisters, cooking, talking, eating, celebrating our time together and hoping the ran will hold off long enough for us to enjoy some fireworks. The dogs on the other hand will stay home and freak out because they will feel like they are living in a war zone with all the booming and popping they will hear all night long. Poor things, and poor me when I come home to the shaking, slobbering pups that will not leave my side for the rest of the evening.
